Will
I be able to take communion at Reformation?
Anyone who has been baptized into the Christian faith
and receives communion in their tradition is welcome
at our communion table. We use the intinction method
of communion, which means that after you receive the
wafer, you dip it into the chalice and then place
it into your mouth. If you prefer grape juice, use
the chalice on the tray of the bread server.
My toddler is too restless
to sit still during an entire worship service. What
provisions are there for parents like me?
We welcome small children in worship. We have activity
bags in the narthex for small children to use to entertain
themselves during the service. The 11 a.m. worship
service usually includes a Children's Sermon; there
may also be a "Children's Church" activity
in the Social Hall during part of that worship service.
However, a professionally staffed nursery is always
available during services, should you find it a better
option for your child.
Is the church air-conditioned?
Yes!!!
Is there an active Women's
Group at Reformation?
There are many small-group opportunities for women
at Reformation. These include the Altar Guild, the
Needlework Group, the Women's Connection, and the
Handicrafters. There are also events specifically
designed for women, such as Women's Breakfasts, Women's
Retreats, and Mother/Daughter Dinners. Women of the
ELCA assists in the development of programs for women.
What activities does the
church have for children and teens?
During the school year, the church has Sunday School
classes for children, infants and up. There is an
interdisciplinary children's choir/arts group (ages
4-11). There are opportunities for singing and playing
instruments solo and in ensemble for Junior High &
High School. Programming for senior high youth includes
Youth Connection during the Sunday School hour. Junior
high youth are involved in a confirmation program.
During the summer, the church may hold one or more
week-long programs for the younger crowd, like the
Vacation Bible Experience.
How can I find out more about what it means to be
a member of Reformation?
The pastors offer an adult education class for exactly
this purpose! Just let them know of your interest,
and they will be happy to tell you when the next one
is scheduled.
