Nursery School

• Philosophy
  
  We hope to provide a cheerful, healthy atmosphere in which young children can develop socially, emotionally, and physically. The purpose is to help children make a successful break from home and to develop positive feelings about themselves.
  
  
• Curriculum
  
  The children will learn to get along in a group, to share, and to take turns. We will sing many songs, use rhythm instruments, and move to the music. There will be arts and crafts which will be fun for the children, but also teach how to listen and follow directions. We will use scissors, crayons, markers, paints, and play dough. Cooking and seasonal activities will also be incorporated. The 3 and 5 day classes will have many kindergarten readiness skills.
  
  
• Class Sessions
  
  2 Day Class (Tuesday and Thursday) for children who are 3 years old by Sept. 1 3 day Class (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) for children who are 4 years old by Sept. 1 5 day Class (Monday through Friday) for children who are 5 years old (or nearly so) Hours: 9-11:30 am, September through May An extended day for the 3 and 5 day classes is offered every Monday and Friday that the school is open.
  
  
• Class Ratio
  
  In the 2 day class, there are 8 children per teacher. In the 3 and 5 day classes, there are 10 children per teacher.
